Our unique barrels of centuries-old Twente oak have also transformed this fourth batch of Sculte Twente Whisky Peated into an authentic whisky with a character all its own. These unique barrels allowed the whisky to mature to its current state: complex and challenging. Especially for the admirer who appreciates a good, robust peated whisky.
The smokiness is slightly prominent in the aroma, while the palate is unmistakably present thanks to the Highland peat, perfectly balanced with notes of Twente oak. A discerning nose will also detect hints of vanilla and leather, while the palate is surprised by a thick, almost creamy flavor.
Last but not least, you will find a light hint of menthol and a fresh touch of Earl Grey. The aftertaste is honey-liquorice sweet, with the typical Sculte raisin as the icing on the cake.
