What makes a whisky Sculte?
Every Sculte whisky carries our own signature. This isn't created by a single ingredient, a single cask, or a single moment in the process, but by the combination of three elements.
Artisanal Distillation
Making whisky starts with care. At Sculte, we consciously choose an artisanal method of distillation, where craftsmanship, experience, and attention to detail are central. From distilling to the moment the whisky goes into the cask: every step contributes to the final character.
Our own cask system
A large part of a whisky's character is developed during maturation.
That is why, at Sculte, we work with our own cask system. Different types of oak are carefully selected and sometimes combined to develop flavour, depth, and balance.
It's not the cask that determines the whisky. It's the interplay between the distillate, the oak, and time that does.
The influence of Twente oak
Twente is not only the place where Sculte is made. The landscape literally becomes part of our whisky.
Twente oak plays a special role in our cask system and gives our whisky a recognizable Dutch character.

Sculte Single Malt
Awarded before hitting the shelves
Even before its official introduction, the Sculte Single Malt was judged at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The result: silver.
A wonderful international recognition for a whisky specifically intended to introduce more enthusiasts to our way of making whisky.
Tasting notes
On the nose, sweet notes of ripe fruit and dried tropical fruit unfold, with a subtle hint of pineapple and brown sugar elegantly transitioning into creamy butterscotch.
On the palate, a soft spiciness of clove follows, carried by rich honey candy, with a sweet finish in which a hint of sultana raisin provides a refined balance.
